Handmade in Brighton
Kemptown Provisions Soap is created by our founder, Nicola Brown, using unique formulations, a traditional cold process method and natural ingredients – gentle for sensitive skin.
Each bar is slowly cured for at least four weeks, hand cut and stamped, meaning no two are ever the same. All six of our gender-neutral scents are suitable for both face and body, leaving skin feeling clean, soft and nourished.
Love and Kindness
Following redundancy from a 20+ year career with one of the leading retail businesses in the UK, Nicola decided it was time for a complete change in direction. She wanted to follow her passion for making and a desire to create products which are necessary, bring people joy, and have purpose.
After attending several soap-making workshops, meetings with experts and many months of experimentation, research, development and testing – Kemptown Provisions was born.
Nicola's scents are conceptually and uniquely inspired by the Kemptown district of East Brighton, and its history, people and diverse landscape.
Considered Choices
Our soaps are made in large blocks and cut equally by hand for minimising any waste. Everything we do is crafted in a sustainable and low impact way. We have set out with the intention of giving at least 1% of our yearly profit to local causes. We pledge to document this journey annually.
We consciously source everything we can as locally and responsibly as is possible. We use Royal Mail as our delivery partner knowing 100% of their electricity is renewable and more than half of their parcel deliveries are made by foot or through a park and loop method.
Premium Quality
We use natural ingredients which are either sourced locally or are purchased from our trusted, UK based supplier. A family owned business that holds high standards, has values aligned with ours, and offers us access to products originating across the world.
Our soap bars are all vegan friendly and tested on humans. We use a unique blend of Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Coconut Oil and Olive Oil – We do not use Palm Oil in our formulations. Our intention is to offer the highest quality skincare and to earn a reputation for excellent products and a seamless purchasing experience, that leaves our valued customers entirely satisfied.
Lovely, Inside and Out
Our beautifully simple, minimal packaging is crafted so that it's perfect to give as a gift, or to receive, and is conscious of its effect on our planet. It is made from a bespoke design without the need for glue, and is 100% recyclable with FSC® Certified papers.
The box is produced with love by our local, EMAS Certified, award-winning printer based in the Sussex Downs. It is made using renewable energy and hand delivered to us flat-packed to ensure minimal environmental impact. In fact, our outer Ecommerce packaging also contains zero-plastic, is entirely recyclable, protective and is intended to fit through a letterbox.
